Program Description:
Matthew R. Dalling Irish Cultural Studies Scholarship Fund

This scholarship has been established to honor Matthew Dalling’s legacy at Sacred Heart University. Matthew (class of 2011) studied abroad at SHU's campus in Dingle, Ireland and had a life changing experience. His family has set up this fund to support future students participate in a short-term program in Dingle. Two (2) students per year will be awarded a $500 scholarship to study at SHU in Ireland; one scholarship awarded for the January term and one for the May term.

STUDENT ELIGIBILITY
  1. Accepted to one of the SHU in Ireland short- term programs
  2. 3.0 GPA
  3. Financial need or qualification for need
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Apply online and submit the following documents:
  • Essay
  • Financial Verification Questionnaire
PLEASE NOTE: If awarded this scholarship, you must agree to do the following upon your return from Ireland:
  • Submit a 500 word reflection on your experience in Ireland which will be sent to your Benefactor and may be used for promotional purposes at the discretion of SHU  – within 30 days of the program end date;
  • Submit a "thank-you" note to your benefactor  – within 30 days of the program end date;
  • Attend Dingle related information sessions, events and pre-departure meetings in order to further support SHU in Ireland  – throughout the following full semester upon your return.
APPLICATION DEADLINES (Awardees will be notified via email prior to the program departure date)
  • For students applying to the January term, the deadline is OCTOBER 15TH.
  • For students applying to the May term, the deadline is MARCH 1ST.
