Eligibility and Application

Eligibility and the Application Process

**Please check the individual program pages for program specific requirements as eligibility requirements vary by program.

No matter the program you choose, you must meet or exceed all general SHU study abroad eligibility requirements and adhere to the application deadlines.  Admission to a study abroad program is not guaranteed. To meet the eligibility requirements you:

  • Need to be in good academic and disciplinary standing (You cannot be on probation of any kind. Any student found responsible for an academic or disciplinary violation may be denied final admittance to study abroad.  Students that have a history of disciplinary problems or who are on academic/disciplinary probation at the time of application are not eligible for study abroad)
  • Need a signed, valid passport
  • Need to meet the specific eligibility requirements for your program (see individual program pages)

Please note that applications are not considered complete and will not be reviewed until all materials are submitted to the OGA by the specified deadline!

*Semester programs only - undergraduate students may not participate in a semester program during their first or last semester at SHU, and no more than a maximum of two semesters may be spent abroad (excluding SHU global campuses and faculty-led programs)
